D is for Demigods

A demigod is a half god half human, originally a Greek mythological figure who had one parent that was a god and the other parent that was a human. Examples of well-known demigods include the Greek hero Heracles/Hercules, the Celtic hero Cuchulain, and the Sumerian king Gilgamesh.

In our home the study of Greek mythology is a passion. This past year we read and studied D'Aulaires Book of Greek Myths. This study was actually spurned on by reading the Percy Jackson Series. Grace really enjoyed this study and of course we both love waiting for the next Percy Jackson book to come out. But what really has us excited is the release of Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters in August. We have been waiting on the second movie to come out for what seems like forever.

So excited about this one.

We are also patiently (right) waiting the release of the next Percy Jackson book slated to be released in October.

I am linking this up with Blogging Through the Alphabet at Ben and Me.

We also like Greek mythology. I didn't like the first Percy Jackson movie because it was sooo different from the book. I'm not sure if I want to see this one or not.
